Why Stretch Your Spine?

Daily tasks like lifting, bending, and standing for long periods can compress and fatigue the spine. A simple “spine reset” stretch helps restore alignment, reduce tension, and promote better posture during your shift.

When to Use This Stretch

  • Before lifting or handling materials.
  • After long periods of standing or repetitive movement.
  • During break times to reduce spinal fatigue.
  • At the end of the day to unwind tension in the back and neck.

How to Perform the Spine Reset Stretch

  • Stand with your feet shoulder-width apart and knees slightly bent.
  • Raise both arms overhead and clasp your hands together.
  • Take a deep breath, reach upward, and gently arch your back.
  • Hold the stretch for 10–20 seconds while breathing slowly, then relax.
  • Repeat 2–3 times, optionally adding a gentle side bend.

Stretching Safety Tips

  • Stretch slowly—avoid jerky movements.
  • Stop immediately if you feel pain or dizziness.
  • Focus on smooth breathing to support muscle relaxation.
  • Use this stretch as part of your daily movement routine.

At GamaSafety, we support proactive movement strategies. A quick spinal reset stretch can reduce discomfort and help workers maintain better posture and energy throughout the day.
